Early Season Tour – what a way to start your season!

The Early Season Tour is a tour for all disc golfers who want to start their 2025 season with high-quality tournaments. Our tour features three remarkable events across Croatia, Slovenia, and Austria. Join us for a professionally run adventure while challenging your skills on challenging courses surrounded by great scenery.

Tour awards

While each of the tournaments will have its own awards, we will also have prizes for the tour winners. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in every division. A minimum of 25% of all registration fees from each division will be allocated towards Tour awards. Additionally, we guarantee a minimum payout as described in the table below:

Winners of the Tour need to be present at the winners’ ceremony at the last tournament, “2. Pampa Open.” If someone is not present, the price will be passed onto the next one in the list. Ties will be resolved by direct encounters, higher amount of wins, higher amount of 2nd places. If this does not lead to a result, a deciding hole can be played.

The team behind the Early Season Tour

Urban Braune

Urban is an experienced slovenian TD and a part of the AirBounce Disc Golf team. He has run many B and C-tier tournaments. He is very passionate about disc golf and running high-quality disc golf tournaments.

Boštjan Lotrič

Boštjan is an experienced TD and a member of the AirBounce Disc Golf team. What he likes most about disc golf is the competitive atmosphere where players push their limits while also supporting one another.

Martin Josef Nittmann

Martin represents Ala Nova Disc Golf Legion and will be the tournament director of the Wings of Varaždin and 2. Pampa Open. As the owner of Discgolf4you he is thinking Discgolf literary every day of the week!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for the tour?

All registrations will be done on Discgolfmetrix please find the links in the “registrations” section of the page.

What format do the tournaments follow?

All tournaments are held in Singles, 3 round, 2 days shotgun format.

Why did you choose C-Tiers instead of B-Tiers?

If we opt for a B-tier structure, we would be required to award prize money at every event. However, the prize money allocated for the Tour itself would be excluded from this requirement. That said, we decided to remain committed to recognizing and rewarding the Tour winners while ensuring exceptional value for money for all participants.

Why are you offering the RED-Division instead of MA3?

Due to the rule changes by the PDGA we would need to also offer FA3 and that’s not what we were aiming for.

How will MJ18 and FJ18 be ranked in the tour?

Due to the latest rule change, it’s mandatory for us, to also offer FJ18 in the tournaments. As we are unfortunately expecting low registration numbers in both Divisions, we will be having one tour ranking for both of them. However, we will make sure to have a special price for the best player (by tour points) in the FJ18/MJ18 Division if he or she is not represented in the Top 3 at the end of the tour.

What prizes may I expect at the tournaments?

After much consideration, we have decided to primarily award non-cash prizes, such as gift baskets, at the individual events and bigger awards on the tour.

Who is organizing Wings of Varazdin?

The whole AirBounce Disc Golf crew will play a key role in the event, with Martin Josef Nittmann serving as the Tournament Director. Dinko Šimenc will be responsible for organizing aspects related to the course and paperwork.

What are the standards of the tour?

We have committed to maintaining the highest possible standards at each tournament. For example, teepads will be a minimum of 1.5 by 3 meters. We will be using DiscGolfPark Pro targets, and all courses will be fully prepared and ready for play by Friday at 12:00 PM at the latest. The league will also follow the Standards of the Austrian tour 2025.

Do I need to change my PDGA membership to Professional to receive prize money for the tour?

No, there is no need to change your PDGA membership to Professional. Since the prize money is awarded for the tour outside of the PDGA, your current membership status can remain unchanged.

Do I need a PDGA membership to participate?

As 2. Pampa Open is also part of the Austrian Tour, you need a PDGA membership for MPO, FPO, MJ18 and FJ18. RED-Division can be played without a PDGA membership. Both other tournaments can be played without the PDGA membership.

Are spectators allowed?

Spectators are very welcome, but may need to follow specific guidelines. Please check the event information for details.
